Read about ASIMO by Honda, the world's most advanced humanoid robot, as well as other robotics technology by ASIMO Innovations.
In 2014 ASIMO learned to communicate using sign language. A Robot That Just Keeps Getting Better Of course, at Honda we never stop dreaming and building a better future, and we’ve never stopped improving ASIMO, from expanding its range of mobility to increasing its running speed.

ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) is a humanoid robot created by Honda in 2000. It is currently displayed in the Miraikan museum in Tokyo, Japan. The name was chosen in honor of Isaac Asimov.
Asimo is a humanoid robot designed to be a helper to people. It can run, dance, hop, and kick a soccer ball. It travels the world as an ambassador to robokind, making humans excited about robotics.
THE PRESENT: ASIMO is the culmination of two decades of humanoid robotics research by Honda engineers. ASIMO can run, walk on uneven slopes and surfaces, turn smoothly, climb stairs, and reach for and grasp objects.
ASIMO is a bipedal humanoid robot Honda has been developing with a goal to develop robots that will coexist with and be useful to people since its first introduction in 2000.
Asimo is a robot that was built by Honda. The current models can walk, run, and go up and down stairs. Engineers plan to add laser capabilities. It's height is 130 centimeters (4 feet 3 inches) and weight 54 kilograms (119 pounds).
Perhaps the Honda ASIMO was developed too early to have any practical use, similar to what happened with the Jibo social robot. In 2013, Honda announced it was working on a disaster response robot based on ASIMO.
